SnapVitals is a consumer wellness tool, not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or medical condition. No output from SnapVitals should be interpreted as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Informational purpose only

Readings, categories, trends, and in-app hints are provided for your personal reference only. They do not replace professional medical diagnosis or treatment, and using SnapVitals does not create a doctor-patient, physician-patient, or any other professional relationship between you and SnapVitals or its operators.

Source of categories

Blood pressure category ranges shown in the app are based on the 2025 ACC/AHA Guideline for the Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Management of High Blood Pressure in Adults (full citation: Circulation 2025;152:e114–e218; published online August 14, 2025). The full guideline is publicly available at ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CIR.0000000000001356. These ranges are shown to help you understand where your monitor's readings fall against a published reference; they are not diagnostic thresholds for any individual. SnapVitals does not analyze your readings or apply individual judgment — it shows the published range your value falls into. Your clinician may use different targets based on your age, conditions, and medications.

Accuracy of scanned readings

Automatic reading detection uses image recognition and may occasionally misread values, especially in low light, on unusual or unsupported monitor models, or when the monitor display is angled, reflective, or partially obscured. You are responsible for verifying every scanned value against your monitor before saving it. SnapVitals is not liable for any decision made based on an incorrectly recorded reading.

Monitor accuracy

SnapVitals records the values as displayed by your blood pressure monitor. The accuracy of those values depends on your monitor's own calibration, the fit and placement of its cuff, and your adherence to the manufacturer's measurement instructions. SnapVitals does not measure blood pressure, and cannot verify the accuracy of any external monitor.

When to contact your doctor

Consult your doctor if your readings remain outside your usual range, or if you notice symptoms such as dizziness, persistent headache, chest discomfort, blurred vision, or weakness.

Emergency care

If your systolic reading is 180 mmHg or higher, or your diastolic reading is 120 mmHg or higher, wait five minutes and measure again. If the reading is still this high, contact your doctor immediately. Call 911 or your local emergency number if you also experience chest pain, shortness of breath, back pain, numbness or weakness, changes in vision, or difficulty speaking.
